Sid Vicious: English bassist and vocalist. He achieved prominence as a member of the Sex Pistols, a British punk rock band. Sid replaced Glen Matlock, who had fallen out of favour with the other members of the group. My Way, Something Else, Baby Baby и другие песни. This album shows Sid Vicious as a follower, not an innovator. He had no originality or intelligence and displayed an astounding lack of talent, augmented by total contempt for his audience. But given punk's ideology, it may make perfect sense that he should become its most celebrated icon. If you follow the logic, Sid Sings is absolutely essential if not, don't bother. Track Listing. John Simon Ritchie-Beverley May 10, 1957 February 2, 1979, better known as Sid Vicious, was an English punk rock musician and member of the band the Sex Pistols. He died of a heroin overdose at the age of 21. In November 1977 Ritchie met American groupie Nancy Laura Spungen and they immediately began a relationship Spungen had come to London looking for Jerry Nolan of The Heartbreakers. Sid Sings is a classic for any punk record collector. Although the quality of the recording isn't that great, it kindof adds to the beauty of this rare moment of post- Sex Pistols Sid Vicious fronting his own band in NYC performing Pistols songs as well as Johnny Thunders' Heartbreakers- they even end the set with My Way I believe the famed best punk drummer at that time, Jerry Nolan of the NY Dolls, is the drummer on this recording.
