Hard Rock free to Mr. Bungle California Sweet Charity, None of Them Knew They Were Robots and more. 10 tracks 44:12. California is the third and final album by the innovative experimental rock band Mr Bungle, released on the 13th July 1999. The styles that are present in this album include surf, thrash metal, doo-wop, rockabilly, circus, kecak, balladry and eastern music amongst many others, which is typical of Mr Bungle's genre-hopping madness. Many people are of the opinion that it is by far the band's most accessible, and 'normal' album. Released July 13, 1999. California Tracklist. Sweet Charity Lyrics. About California. This was the final album before the bands separation in 2000. It was created 4 years after their largest critical success, Disco Volante. While this album wasnt as highly praised as said album, it was well received. This album takes after a more ska influenced vibe, toning down on the metal and jazz from their other albums. The album was actually titled Californiacation until the RHCP took the name and made the label push their album back a week. This album was also the only album without core member Theo Lengyel. California is the third and final studio album recorded by Mr. This experimental rock album features 10 tracks. This album is the very last that Mr. Bungle ever recorded. Whether or not they had other stuff in the making is a mystery to this day. Recorded in 1998 and released the next year, these 10 tracks cover topics from suicide to castration. Sweet Charity. None of Them Knew They Were Robots. The Air-Conditioned Nightmare. Four years after Disco Volante, Mr. Bungle returns with California, which immediately distinguishes itself from its predecessors - it's probably their most heavily orchestrated record to date and their most melodic overall, as well as the least dependent on rock styles. That's certainly not to imply that this is a tame or immediately accessible record, nor that Mr. Bungle has suddenly gone sane. So Mr. Bungle made another demo for God and right then he knew. He needed Clinton KcKinnon and Danny Hefetz and then his band would be perfect. They recorded their last demo OU818 and god knew it was time. He quickly made Warner Brothers Records sign Mr. Bungle and they made their self titled CD. He wanted more and four years more he got it in the form of Disco Volante, the band at their most experimental and weird. The members of Mr. Bungle fired Theo before they started making their next album and this angered God as he knew that Theo had always added something great to their sound
