The Music for the Royal Fireworks HWV 351 is a suite in D major for wind instruments composed by George Frideric Handel in 1749 under contract of George II of Great Britain for the fireworks in London's Green Park on 27 April 1749. The music celebrates the end of the War of the Austrian Succession and the signing of the Treaty of Aix-la-Chapelle Aachen in 1748. The work was very popular when first performed and following Handels death. Mozart called the work a spectacle of English pride and joy. George Frideric Handel's Music for the Royal Fireworks 1749. Handel: Water Music Music for the Royal Fireworks I don't think DG will ever get around to a proper remastering, so take it for what it's worth. The sonics are mostly good vintage from that era save for the fact that the orchestra sounds somewhat mushy and string heavy. For such a low price, this is a good buy for those that want Handel played by a large modern orchestra. But this version is unfortunately far to figure among the most glorious available in the market. In last instance, it's your choice. Album 1963 24 Songs.
