For me the best track on this EP is......BREAKHOVEN and still is even today. Hunted this down after hearing Stu Allen play this on Key 103 one Saturday night. I sent a stamped addressed envelope for tracklisting and there ya go. Played this back in 92 and heard it in my car only last week, must have ripped it ages ago tune indeed. Love it when you hear a gem from your own collection but cannot remember the artist or name rip various tracks then you press play! PEACE!. Send me a pm on here and il send ya a rip.
Saw a copy of this in Rounder Records. They wanted £25. I think one of the 2 tunes was bootlegged by those H2FR guys. Hopefully it will be available as a download one day.
it is available as a download, rip it off youtube,, all music off net ya can rip, then tweek it to what you want using various software.
big tune this,i agree with wainwright, big up the vinyl and vinyl dj' cant beat it.powerful5/5.
truly gutted i sold this record a couple of years ago i know it went to a good home thou oh well . have on cd but its not the same .respect to all the vinyl lovers out there keep it real
I have just sold a copy of this track and I must admit until I had to send it out the door I was not too sure what all the fuss was about so I thought I had better listen to it one more time before I let it go. I realised tunes like this are few and far between, i bought this tune many years ago as an employee of Mo's and I understand now why I was there. To be part of this mini revolution has been a privalage and respect to all the bedroom DJ's and producers that made it happen.
I shudder to think what those re-mixes 'could have' been like. Though a part of me equally is glad that I didn't ever get to hear them. If it ain't broke don't try n' fix it! My personal respect to one of 'the' land mark tunes! UK Rave Culture Ruled n' so did this tune! I don't suppose any other country anywhere in the world experienced the 'mass madness' ; ) that was our party scene at that specific moment in time. This was, & still is, inspirational stuff.
I'm one half of 2-x-treme and we can't believe the status that this ep has acheived. It was our (John Gray and myself Barry Barnett) first release when we were 18 years old,we had been fortunate enough that John's Dad invested in studio equipment as a hobby and allowed myself and John to spend time messing around. 2 of the track's had already been written by John to which i added the breakbeat elements due to the fact i was Dj'ing and reflected the first installments of sampling breakbeats to which we co wrote the other 2 tracks to complete the ep. We then presented these to Eddie Stenna(Empire) and Luke Slater, whom i was employed by at the time, and they really liked it which consequently led to the first pressing of 1000 copies. It entered the Mixmag buzz charts and became the fastest selling white label with mo's and greyhound distributors,we then pressed a further 1000 copies and the ep was due to be signed to Inner Rhythm(offshoot of outer rhythm)with additional mixes from Top Buzz + Carl Cox but unforunately the label was dropped and the project ground to a halt. I'm still in the music production business and have enjoyed 2 top 40 hits in the last 2 years but nothing that would ever equate to the buzz of having your first record released and selling copies to all your friends and family whi now have probably seen a nice investment for the £3.00 that we probably charged them at the time. Respect to all the people that have kept our little ep alive after 16 years and long may it remain a classic in your collections. John Gray + Barry Barnett (2-x-treme)
Love Is the message I've just spent £40 on this vinyl and its a Ripper. Its 2016 And Im an old Raver buying up my youth. It still sounds as good today as it did then. I will be dropping this next week and remember your as old as the vinyl you feel x
Be proud groovefinder , oldskool is still a way of life for me. Djing online to a few oldskool heads and doing the odd party every couple of months nearly always unpaid but lapping it up , still purchasing oldskool hardcore and some jungle , it becomes part of you from the first time you properly receieve it. Your tunes , especially for me 'That Piano Track' capture the essence of it all. Respect.x
What a tune!!!A truly unique Track from back in the day, a must have for any Hardcore Collection.
I can't believe no one has commented on this release, arguably the best hardcore record ever made. 4 really good uplifting tracks crafted to hardcore perfection. The stand out track for me is X-Treme Theme with its female vocal samples & its slow build up with some nice breakbeats over the top too beef up the track. Equally as good is That Piano Track with its often sampled piano (as used by DJ Ham's classic most uplifting on kniteforce records)to create a massively happy and uplifting track without being to cheesy. For many years this record eluded me, after hearing it on a Fantazia Second Sight Top Buzz tape from late 91, i finally got a copy in 2002!!! In 2006 this record got a repress for the next generation of ravers to enjoy
All you lot above I bought your copies I have 3 of this and I ain't selling fucking any of them lol You was fucking stupid to sell this track
